Aftermath of a crisis (Bregtje van der Haak, VPRO Backlight 2011)

Shortly after the beginning of the financial crisis of 2008 sociologist Manuel Castells gathered a small group of international topintellectuals to ponder the crisis. While the crisis expanded, Castells named his group 'The Aftermath Network', a reference to the new world which according to him will emerge from the ashes of the crisis.

Poc després del començament de la crisi financera del 2008, el sociòleg Manuel Castells es va envoltar d’un petit grup d’intel•lectuals internacionals de gran prestigi per analitzar a fons la crisi. Castells va anomenar el seu grup “The Aftermath Network”, “La xarxa de les conseqüències” fent referència al nou món que, segons ell, estava naixent de les cendres de la crisi.
